John is a licensed engineer in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.  He is also a licensed contractor in New Mexico.  John has over 34 years experience in the civil engineering design and heavy highway construction.  Mr. Karlsruher recieved his BSCE degree in 1977 from the University of Texas at El Paso.

Mr. Karlsruher began his career as a Project Engineer for Texas Utilities Company and developed extensive experience in the construction management of multi-million dollar power plants.  His duties on these projects include preparation of cost estimates, budgets, schedules, and bid documents, evaulation of bids, contract award, and administration of the construction contract.  In 1983 he transitioned to the consulting engineering business focusing primarily on large public works projects in the Dallas, Texas Metroplex.  Since returning to El Paso in 1991 Mr. Karlruher has provided project management and engineering design oversight of numerous city, county, and state heavy highway design projects.  All projects required construction administration which was managed by Mr. Karlsruher.  In addition to heavy civil works project he has designed industrial parks, residential subdivisions, water and wastewater projects, drainage projects including Conditional and Final Letters of Map Revision (CLOMR/LOMR).
